Dr. Schrift specializes in the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric, cognitive, memory, and behavioral problems that can occur following or as part of neurological and medical diseases. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with added qualifications in geriatric and addiction psychiatry. He formerly was director of psychiatry residency training at Chicago Medical School and at Rush where he was also director of medical student education in psychiatry. He attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His psychiatry residency training and subsequent fellowship training in neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology and behavioral neurology was at Chicago Medical School . Dr. Schrift's teaching and research interests include brain-behavior relationships in psychopathology and neuroethics. He has won numerous awards for medical student and residency education, both at Chicago Medical School and at Rush.
