Dr. Connolly is board certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Connolly earned her M.D. at Washington University in St. Louis, completed her residency in Psychiatry at University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at University of Chicago. Dr. Connolly has been a member of the clinical and teaching faculty at UIC since 1992. She has also worked extensively with community mental health agencies and school districts throughout Chicago and the suburbs. Dr. Connolly is chief editor of a curriculum for mental health providers throughout Illinois in partnership with the Department of Human Services.
Dr. Connolly is a clinician, educator, and researcher who directs a dedicated team in the Pediatric Stress and Anxiety Disorders Clinic. She has been recognized as a regional expert in child and adolescent anxiety disorders and is working to advance identification and understanding of childhood anxiety in schools and community settings. Based on her expertise, Dr. Connolly has been featured in numerous national consumer publications including Child Magazine and Parents Magazine as well as on television news stations. Dr. Connolly is also the principal author of the upcoming Practice Parameter for the Assessment and Treatment of Children and Adolescents with Anxiety Disorders for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Connolly was recently selected as one of “America’s Top Psychiatrists” in “Guide to America’s Top Psychiatrists” 2004-2005 Edition from the Consumer Research Council of America.
