Dr. Bazhenova has research interests in the areas of neurobiology of autism, evaluation of the effects of biobehavioral interventions and neurobiology of attention and emotion in infants. She is the Director of the Listening Project in the UIC Brain Body Center. The Brain-Body Center, which is being directed by Dr. Porges, has as its primary goal to translate neurobiological principles into biologically-based behavioral interventions and assessments in the field and clinic. Dr. Bazhenova has been involved in developing, conducting and evaluating the behavioral effects of an intervention designed to stimulate social behavior in children with autism spectrum disorders.
