Internship in Clinical Psychology
Application Procedure

Applications are accepted from third year and beyond graduate students in Clinical, Counseling, or School psychology programs who have met their program requirements to apply for internship, and have 1000 hours of practicum experience. Applicants for the Child Track should also have at least 500 of their practicum hours with children and adolescents in clinics and community or school settings. Applicants should show evidence of research potential and productivity during graduate school, interest in goals consistent with a scientist-practitioner orientation, and interest in working with diverse, urban populations. Priority is given to students from APA-approved programs.

To apply, the student should submit the following materials:

  • A completed APPIC application form for psychology internship. Go to the APPIC web site: http://www.appic.org/. Please complete the application in full, even though your vita may furnish some of the information.
  • An official graduate transcript
  • A curriculum vita
  • Three letters of reference from clinical and research supervisors.
  • A cover letter in which you describe 1) the major experiences that we offer that interest you, 2) how these experiences fit with your career goals.

Completed applications will be reviewed by a committee of faculty to identify candidates with goals for internship that closely match the program’s goals. We plan to invite approximately 50 candidates to one of the full-day interview sessions being held in January-2008.

ALL MATERIAL MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN
NOVEMBER 3, 2008
