Child and Adolescent Fellowship Training

Kathleen M. Kelley, M.D.
Director, Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Residency Training Program

Welcome! This is a challenging and exciting time for us here at IJR/UIC! The new year is well underway, and we are already anticipating further program development in the upcoming year.

As we know, there is a great need for child and adolescent psychiatrists and yet we remain a small group. Each of you who are considering or who have made the decision to complete fellowship training is very special to us. Beyond increasing the number of child and adolescent psychiatrists, it is very clear that we must multiply our ability as individuals to serve children and families. To do this, we continue to develop collaborations with our colleagues in the medical center, our local communities, the city and State, and across the nation. We are very happy to describe our program to you, and we thank you for your interest in training as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

We hope that you consider our program and apply for a C&A residency position at UIC/IJR. Our interviewing process will begin in October this year. Please know that we are participating in the National Resident Matching Program specialty match for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We plan to make our match decisions in early to mid-December, since the rank order list must be received no later than December 14, 2016. The actual Match Day will be January 4, 2017.

Please contact us with any question you may have about our program. We look forward to meeting you!
