The Cognitive Neuroscience Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago is a new program directed by Scott Langenecker, Ph.D.
The CNC is dedicated to improving the amount, quality and impact of human neuroscience research at UIC and within the greater Chicago area. The CNC will focus on development, training and innovation at the interface of basic and clinical research, often termed translational neuroscience. The CNC includes close collaborations with other neuroscience initiatives across both campuses, including those HIV, substance, aging, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders and conditions. The primary research activities and program of Dr. Langenecker and his close collaborators in mood disorders research are subsumed within the MEND2 lab that he directs. MEND2 stands for Multifaceted Explorations of the Neurobiology of Depressive Disorders.
