8 West Oncology- Adult, Inpatient
Goals:

To teach relaxation techniques with music for pain management and stress reduction

To provide a creative outlet for the expression of feelings, especially about having an illness and the daily effect of such an illness

To promote and support family relationships by including family members in sessions

To provide a respite from the routine of hospitalization and medical procedures
- To consult with staff on the use of music for relaxation with patients
5 West Pediatrics -
- Inpatient, Group and Individual

To facilitate children's adjustment to the hospital environment.

To provide distraction from pain and the hospital environment.

To improve communication and social skills through group experiences

To express feelings related to hospital stay, verbally and non-verbally

To provide opportunities for shared experiences and interaction with family members.

provide an opportunity for social interaction with other hospitalized
adults

in regard to the current need for rehabilitation

teach relaxation techniques to manage pain and reduce stress
4 East Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Goals:

To provide developmental support following NIDCAP model

To meet physiological needs through entrainment
-
To create a positive auditory environment
Music
therapy services include both group
and individual sessions.
We
are approved by the American Music
Therapy Association as a clinical training site.
