Randomized Evaluation of Dissemination to
Peer Support Organizations

Staff:

Judith A. Cook, Ph.D. and Kathy Furlong Norman, MSW

Purpose:

This project is a collaborative effort between the UIC NRTC and The Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Boston University.  The primary goal is to experimentally evaluate the impact of two information dissemination strategies on satisfaction with, and use of, research and training materials in psychiatric rehabilitation.  The target audience for this project is the mental health consumer community, particularly those engaged in peer support, mental health and psychiatric rehabilitation service provision.  Potential consumer/survivor dissemination recipients will be randomly assigned to conditions in which they are offered: 1) materials for free, 2) free materials plus follow-up telephone technical assistance, or 3) free materials plus technical assistance plus a free sample.  Through this design, the effectiveness of each of these dissemination "boosters" will be tested alone and in combination with each other.

For more information about this project, please email Judith Cook, Ph.D.
