Programs
ICORC's mission is addressed through programs and events that are structured to engage faculty, staff and students at UIC, and persons from other universities, organizations and communities within Chicago and other key sites.
Faculty Appointments
The center's core faculty is appointed jointly with other departments and colleges on campus to lead
ICORC initiatives.
Multi-Disciplinary Collaborative Projects
The center organizes projects with persons from UIC and off campus.
Center Fellows
The center appoints fellows to participate in its multi-disciplinary collaborative projects. It also provides collaborative fellowship training for post-docs in other university post-doc programs.
Roundtable Conversations
A series of roundtable conversations are held during the year that features persons from on campus and off-campus who will discuss new areas of work concerning social catastrophes.
Lecture Programs
The center sponsors several lectures during the year featuring eminent speakers who have made significant contributions to advance collaborative and multi-disciplinary approaches to social catastrophes.
Through the Roundtable Conversations and Lecture Programs, the ICORC
creates a space for ongoing dialogue between scholars, clinicians, scientists, humanists, policy makers, and community persons on current work in social catastrophes. This dialogue will reflect the multiple issues, initiatives, contexts and methodologies, that belong within the purview of the
ICORC. It is especially important to bring together persons who otherwise would not have a chance to talk together. All these meetings are open and we welcome newcomers from within or beyond the UIC community, especially residents, students and trainees.
