I've recently completed medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans and am in my intern year within the psychiatry departent at UIC. My interest in refugee mental health has grown out my interest in psychiatry and delivery of mental health services as well as past work with human rights organizations and immigrant and refugee populations. My goal with regards to the institute is simply to learn. Learn what the challenges are facing refugee populations. Learn what services are and are not available for assistance. Learn what that right questions are; and, hopefully, to know enough to contribute to overcoming obstacles.
