Fellows > Ana Petrovic
Ana Petrovic is a senior student
majoring in English at the University if Illinois at Chicago.
Next year, she plans to enter law school where she can pursue
her career interests in international law and human rights work.
At UIC, she has been an active student in the Honors College,
and headed up UIC’s nationally ranked mock trial team. Her
past research interests include an independent study project
that she conducted on the legal and social issues concerning
Chicago’s Gang Loitering Ordinance. For the past year, she has
been researching and volunteering for a clinic at The John
Marshall Law School.
Her interest in social justice
and policy-shaping attracted her to work as a fellow for the
ICORC. She is currently assisting Dr. Stevan Weine and Dr. Anne
Brisson with a new project that focuses on HIV/AIDs risks faced
by women in Tajikistan. She is researching the problems facing
the region with a primary focus on the sexual trafficking of
women. As the project develops, she would like to explore how
existing legislation impacts these issues.
