Illinois DocAssist Consultants are UIC faculty and staff clinicians with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of child and youth mental health and substance use problems.

Illinois DocAssist is a supportive consultation and training service for primary care clinicians. Illinois DocAssist does not consult on or interact directly with individual patients or their families.

The Illinois DocAssist number is a toll-free “warmline” operating during normal business hours (Monday-Friday between 9a-5p). Inquiries are answered or responded to promptly but always within one business day.

Illinois DocAssist Follow-up Survey Lottery Winner Profile!

Each time someone who has used the consultation service returns our short feedback survey, that person is entered into a lottery.  A drawing takes place every four to six months and a $50 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com is given to the person whose consultation number is drawn.  Below is the profile of our most recent winner.

Dr. Buranakul is a pediatrician at a rural health center in Danville, IL (population 30,000). He hails from Thailand but completed his residency in the greater Chicago area. Dr. Buranakul has advanced training as a pediatric allergist but sees children from across Vermillion County providing sick and well visits to the area’s poor. Over the last 35 years Bhirom Buranakul, MD LLC has become one of the largest practices in the immediate area averaging between 35-45 patients per day and attracting families from up to an hour away.
