Clinical Cynthia Petty, MS, APRN, BC Cynthia Petty is a registered nurse who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. She is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing and is a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse who may prescribe medications in collaboration with Dr. Sucheta Connolly. Cynthia has worked in a variety of mental health settings over the past 28 years. She has worked as a nurse manager in inpatient adolescent psychiatric care for 12 years, treated adults in outpatient as well as inpatient settings and provided home health psychiatric care for geriatric clients. She has been employed at the University of Illinois in the Pediatric OCD and Tic Disorders Clinic for her first two years and currently in the Pediatric Stress and Anxiety Disorders Clinic. She is experienced in providing individual, family and group psychotherapy. In addition, Cynthia is certified as a cognitive-behavioral therapist and specializes in treating clients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Tourette’s Disorder. Cynthia has been a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois College of Nursing and has been a preceptor for advanced practice nurses at UIC. She has written chapters on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Tourette’s Disorder for the Illinois Department of Human Services. |
